Its awesome you are working out but, you're max heart rate isint 140. There's a ton of mis information about there. I just plugged in a guess of 40 years of age(I wanted to be on the safe side) and female with a resting heart rate of 60(realiity of which is prolly lower) here are the results.

Age 40
Resting HR-60
Maximum HR-181
Easy(60-75%)-128-148
AT(85-90%) -161-167
VO2 Max(90-100%)-167-181

Easy is if you are nursing a injury. AT is ideally where you need to try and average for a great cardio workout. VO2 MAX is the absolute highest you wanna hit i.e that being 181BPM.

I'm not trying to be hard on you...but, the fat burning zone is bs and age drastically changing you're cardio heart rate target zones is bs as well. Age only affects the numbers 5-7BPM and thats over the course of you're entire lifetime from age 20 to 70. Bottem line is a 170 heart rate for a 30 something or 40 something women is completely fine in a cardio workout. The reason why most gym's and even others in the industry would deter you from getting true cardio workout is they are scared of the liablity. Its more about them than it is you.

Hence the fat burning zone bs that got invented in the 1980's.
