What baffles me is not so much that it takes so long to schedule an outpatient study, but the fact that you have had to go back to an ER so many times for fluids etc and still it hasn't been done. To have an ongoing problem that requires multiple invasive trips to the ER, it is absolute negligence to let it go on this long. If it is your gallbladder, the more inflammed it gets repitively, can make its removal all the more difficult and increase the risk of converting to an open procedure or complications from the procedure due to poor visualization with all the inflammation. The same would go for a bowel procedure. It is a fine line to walk with the surgeon. He has to operate on you so you don't want to piss him off too much. I would speak with the CEO of the hospital/chief of staff....bring television reporters with you next time if you have to. All I can say is I am sorry you are going through this and I hope you have an answer soon.
