Its so true to read labels. Milk even has sugar in it. So does fruit..but there is a difference between natural sugar, raw sugar and sugar alcohol. Key thing is what effect it has on you. Most of the time when something says light or low fat, it has more sugar to compensate for the reduced fats. I don't do anything low fat......yogurt is the one thing that I find tough to buy as there is so much sugar in it.
Carnation here is full sugar, I can't buy the low sugar one, but many do drink it. Be very conscious of labels, but just as much for sugar alcohols (sorbitol, manditol etc)
You won't know what you can tolerate till post op and then things change as time goes on. I can tolerate WAY more now that I could at 5 months out.
