I am proximal, they bypassed 100cm and my doc does this with all his patients now. I asked for 120cm, but he said he doesn't do them and most patients respond well to proximal. The more you increase the bypass, the less absorption, so he finds 100cm a good balance between malabsorbtion and pouch size.

I heard on TV that SUPER OBESE (BMI very high) that they do 150-200 bypass, but that now most days the do the DS procedure with super obese instead.

At the link you provided, which is great...I have to wonder about the 75-50% of extra body weight loss. I lost 100% of my extra body weight (within 2 pounds) and I had proximal. I guess I am not in the typical group which I good, I would NOT have been happy with 70 pound weight loss!
