As we age, elastin production in the skin is reduced and depleted. For severely stretched skin, skin that has been stretched, reduced, re-stretched...the elastin and other fibers are replaced with connective tissues which don't, "bounce" back. Some people are lucky by genetics, luck, etc...and don't have too many skin issues. Others, myself included, have put their skin through the gauntlet of stretches and reductions over time that has pretty much destroyed any hope of it smoothing out. YOU do have an option though...Staying MO would keep all that skin nice and filled out.... . It's all about priorities...
