Hi all,
I came across this in another forum.
Did you know there's more than one kind of RNY? Basically the amount of malabsorption is dependant on the length of your 'alimentary limb'.
There's the Proximal, the Medial, the Distal and the Duodenal (which is really the DS surgery).
Each one has a different malabsorption rate. My limb is 130cm which ends up being the Medial RNY with a moderate level of malabsorption.
This article does not indicate how much malabsorption .. but my doctor told me that I would have a 30% malabsorption. He doesn't like going higher than this.
Which one do you have?
