have you tried steamed zucchini? that was the first veggie I tried, I put some spray butter and a squeeze of lemon juice on it and it was delicious!
As far as too much protein, I don't think you are getting too much. I actually had a hard time with protein supplement so the first couple of months I rarely made my 50 grams a day limit. Now I average about 85 grams a day but I don't supplement at all.
