Welcome home - glad you made it to the other side, but am so sorry for your loss. yes - you hit the nail on the head - right now is hell week, and then the emotions kick in because the weight loss happens and the hormones are release from the fat cells, so the majority of us went through a very emotional time - for me it was from week 2 until about week 5. You also have the loss of your dad to contend with, and it can be very difficult no not have your coping mechanism available to you. I made a list before surgery of things I could do instead of eat - you may want to do the same and do the things on your list if you just feel like eating - especially since right now your diet is soft amd limited. Things on my list included: taking a walk, reading, crocheting, posting on the forum...busy-type things that weren't too physical.
