Your height and weight indicate a BMI of 39.6 and you have several comorbidities which means your BMI could be as low as 35 and you'd still qualify for wls. Truthfully, my PCP was a little taken aback when I first brought it up to him as well. Once I pointed out my over 40 (at the time) BMI and all my comorbidities, he was completely supportive and issued the consult immediately.

I just had a fasting blood test and the 2-hour glucose tolerance test as part of a study my surgeon is doing. As long as they can get an IV in you, you'll be fine. Take something to read or do and relax. I was a little drained for a day, but not too bad. Don't expect to be running marathons after it's done.
