It is official, the countdown to onederland in now set to begin...lol. I haven't posted much about my sugery as of yet. I am now almost 9 weeks out and feel like it is ok to start sharing my thoughts. I am still not convinced that I would do this again but I've had some isues. Luckily I did not have any health issues/complications due to the surgery and for that I am thankful. However, I still am having big issues with eating. Nothing stays down. Soups and liquids are about all I can handle. It has defintely been a chore to eat the past couple of weeks, but it seem to be SLOWLY getting better. I have dropped from a size 22 pants to a 16 which I think I'm actulally ready for a 14 and in shirts I've gone from a 2xl/3xl to a plain old xl. The clothes part is starting to get fun as I can fit it to much more trendy clothes rather than the old busha stuff I used to wear. Several times now, I have ran into people in public whom are good friends of mine that I haven't seen since before surgery and when I first started talking to them you could tell they weren't quite sure who I was. Then you could see the lightbulb go off and they realized it was me. It really was a good feeling. My surgeon's office spoke to me yesterday about using me as the new "poster" person as they are trying to rebuild the program here. I thought that was a nice compliment and said sure, why not.
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone here for sharing such personal experiences with everyone else in the hopes that it some way it makes someone else's journey a little easier. It has made my journey easier. And to Marty...I love you. I couldn't have a better buddy, thank you.
For all of you wondering where my x-mas cards were...I decided to do something a little different...you will be getting cards in the mail...when you least expect them...lol All the cards I recieved were beautiful, thank you.
