Default I did it backwards...

I had gone on an Optifast-like medical fast and lost 100 lbs, so before I had the chance to gain it all back, I had a TT and boob lift. I was lookin all hot n stuff, and then I hurt my back at work, which has ultimately disabled me from further work. Of course, the 1 1/2 yrs that Work Comp screwed around before I got surgery to fix my back, I was in so much pain and so depressed, I gained it all and like 10 lbs more just as fast, it seemed.

I can tell you that between the lift and the TT, the lift didn't hurt hardly at all, but the TT hurt like gangbusters. There was a good amount of swelling and discomfort.

So regarding pregnancy, I can't really say, but I can say that you can get stretch marks on your lovely new canvas if you gain a bunch of the weight back. Tightening the rectus muscles is a must, and that's why everyone's so glad when they have hernias--they have to pay for our muscles to get put back together! I have to say that it was uncomfortable when I was putting weight on again in my belly area, so think growing a baby might be somewhat gnarly also.

Now that I have lost that weight and more, having the TT muscle tone rocks. I'd probably look a lot better if I had a back lift now--My butt looks like white wide wale corduroy, and my legs are more wrinkly than Deb the Asian Elephant at the Zoo. I am absolutely not engaging in one surgery that's not absolutely necessary, however, so I don't see it in my future. I may be having surgery to remove the hardware from my back later next year, basically when I can't stand the pain anymore, I wonder if they could "take a tuck?"

So overall I would rate the TT as important, but expensive to pay for and quite painful, but it's really worth it to have a flat flat stomach. Anyone who has lived with a large pannus understands what a big deal that is.
