Buying clothes......size 6? NOT....reality check<sigh>
Well some of you guys may be far enough along that going to buy clothes is a fantastic journey <sigh>. I, who have not shopped for clothes except when it was horribly horribly necessary (like my sons wedding, hated it, didnt want to be there, didnt want to be in the pictures, never expected to look like that when my son go married!) unwittingly went to buy some clothes (a bathing suit, that was a big mistake) for my trip today. It's amazing what your mind can lead you to believe (that I was looking good!) and what the real story is. I actually went into one of the rooms with the wrap around mirrors, thinking it couldnt be that bad............."heck I've lost almost 50lbs!". (what the heck are they thinking putting those mirrors with down lighting in a plus size womens shop? every ripple shows up!).
Well no way on that project boss! There is no way I would put a bathing suit on and walk around in public. So, although the weight does/has come down, and I/you are feeling very very good, its a good thing to not overshoot reality, it can be very disappointing. I am losing a lot of weight, and I am certainly going down in sizes, but I ain't ready for a bathing suit! I remember coming back from a clothes shopping trip with my daughters last year, I was so shocked at what I saw in the mirror, I couldnt get it out of my mind for a day. I cried all the way home in the car. I felt bad for my kids, they couldnt console me, and they didnt know what to do.
So I hope to be happily posting next year with all of you ladies who are looking at the size 6 rack, but not for me yet.............guess I'll be tanning in my shorts this year~
