Carrie...wow what an experience. From having my surgery with the same doctor and same hospital, my expereince was no where near yours. I am glad you are doing ok. So amazing that you drove yourself...you must be feeling better.
Regarding the fluids...drink very, very slow. You have to remember that your pouch is the size of your baby finger right now. Sip throughout the day and very small amounts. Try water, herbal tea..I couldn't do crystal light this early out.
The pills, I chewed them for weeks and weeks before I would actually swallow one.
Was your surgery done right....I would have to say 99.9% yes. He is great surgeon and had done thousands of these.
The heaviness in your chest is normal. Sip slowly and try and burp..sounds silly, but its almost like an air bubble in there and you have to work at getting it out. I had it for a long time, not anymore.
