You are in the right forum. Everyone here is wonderful. I'm just beginning the process myself, so can't offer any words of wisdom. I go this week for my surgeon, nutrition, and psych eval. The decision to do the surgery is a personal one, but I do feel strongly that this is what I need to do for my health. My husband and daughter were very apprehensive, but they attended the seminar with me and it helped them understand and eased some fears. The thing that really hit home is that out of 11 people who are 100+ pounds overweight....only 1 one them will live to be 65!! For me, it comes down to quality of life. I am 44 years old, and want to live another 44 years or so! I want to be active and energetic! I am healthy now, the only comorbidity I have is high cholesterol, but I know if I don't do the sugery soon, I'll be developing other problems. I see little signs of back pain here and there, I don't have a lot of energy, have no motivation to exercise...in general, I feel okay, but I know it could be SOOOOOOO much better with 110 pounds off!!!!
Welcome to the forum. Keep reading, there's lots of information here!
