It is different for everyone. Some of the factors that make the wait longer or shorter are:
How long all the appointments for testing take.
Some insurance companies require a 6 month supervised diet.
What the requirements are of your surgeon when it comes to support group meetings, etc. Mine required 2 support group meetings with his staff and they only held them once a month.
ETC., ETC. just for a point of reference, I had to do the 6 month supervised diet...so it took me 8 months from start to finish.
