There is no absolute cutoff in age. The idea is you need to have years to live to gain the health benefits from improved co morbidities to be worth the increased risk with the operation as the risk does get higher with advancing age. I think 60 is well within accepted guidelines and unless you are of outrageous medical risk, you are definitely a candidate. My advice is to find the most experienced surgeon you can.
