Zen, I can relate. I read everything I could, chatted with people here, and felt emotionally and physically prepared for the surgery. We are all the same, yet different. For me I was not prepared for the emotions I went through. AND even almost 5 months out....having turned another year older yesterday, I did good until 4pm, then had a breakdown over not having a birthday cake. It wasn't so much that I wanted the cake...just that my daughter and husband made such an issue over it. I finally ended up in tears. We didn't go out for supper as planned and then my gut was hurting so bad from the stress of it all, I couldn't eat...I had cheese and pickles when I went to bed. Stress does not do well on my pouch...that was not something I had expected.

Kinda reminds me of labor....you can read all you want and go to education classes, but until you experience labor yourself, its not something you can teach or explain to someone. Does this make sense?

You are doing great Zen - I enjoy reading your journey!
